Finances should
feel calm.
CashOwl started from a simple observation: personal-finance apps are either Excel sheets or cloud-hungry subscriptions. Not much in between.
We wanted an app that feels like a notebook — instantly available, always private, no account. And at the same time modern enough to visualise patterns, so you don't just log, you understand.
Built as a one-person project, no venture capital, no exit pressure. That shapes what gets time: the small details you notice after months — not the features that fill the next pitch deck.
What we hold onto.
- i.
Data stays with you
No analytics, no tracking, no bank API. Non-negotiable. That costs us features — and saves you headaches.
- ii.
No subscription lock-in
The core app is and stays free. A one-time lifetime unlock is optional, never required.
- iii.
Patience with craft
Updates ship when they're ready — not at a quarter's end. Rather one feature right than three half-done.
